What is MFA?
MFA adds an additional layer of security when logging in by sending you a unique, time-sensitive code via text message (SMS), Email, or other. This way, even if someone steals your password, they won't be able to access your Identillect account unless they also have access to your phone or non-secure email account.
Note: "Factors" refers to the delivery methods used to send the unique, one-time use code. A text message or email is a type of factor.
Before You Get Started
To recap, you can log in to Identillect using two different methods:
1. An Identillect account
2. Using an existing social provider account (such as Google or Microsoft)
Note: This guide outlines the steps to enable MFA for an Identillect account only. Enabling MFA through a social provider such as Google can be enabled through that provider's website.
Social provider login is convenient as it doesn't require you to create a separate account and password for each website that you log in to.
How to Configure MFA Through the Identillect Web Portal
Note: Configuring MFA in the web portal will enable it for all add-ins as well.
- Navigate to your preferences at https://ww2.identillect.com/portal/settings/preferences
- Check the box for Enable Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Logout and then Login again to be presented with the MFA Enrollment wizard
